The Min River (闽江) cuts Fuzhou in two and gives the city its most photogenic open space. Jiangbin Park runs along both banks with walking and cycling paths, while three generations of bridges — the arched old Minjiang Bridge, the cable-stayed new bridges, and the Luoxing Pagoda landmark downstream — make up the skyline.
The main experience here is the Minjiang Night Cruise, running from Xindou Wharf. The classic 1.5-hour route passes Jiangbin Park, the Minjiang Bridge and the illuminated Luoxing Pagoda; the 2-hour cultural upgrade adds an AR water-screen show and a short Fuzhou Opera performance, with tea sampling throughout. Cruises run nightly year-round, with extra departures around major holidays.
Getting there: Metro Line 2 to Zihu, then a short taxi or walk to Xindou Wharf. Book online one day ahead during peak season.
