Itinerary
Three days is the right depth for Wuyishan if you want both the scenic and the tea side. The itinerary assumes HSR in/out of Wuyishan North and a hotel near the scenic area's south gate.
Day 0 — Arrival
- HSR into Wuyishan North. Taxi to a hotel near the South Gate (Dawangfeng or Sangu).
- Dinner on Lanhu Lu or in the Sangu area — river-fish, bamboo shoots, tea-smoked chicken.
Day 1 — Scenic core
- Morning: Tianyou Peak — first shuttle at 07:30. Climb before 09:30.
- Lunch: South Gate noodle stalls.
- Afternoon: Wuyi Palace and Song Street, a stop at Zhu Xi Academy.
- Evening: Impression Dahongpao show — 70-minute Zhang Yimou–directed live performance in the 360° rotating theatre. Book the 19:30 slot.
Day 2 — Raft and rock tea
- Morning: Nine-Bend Stream bamboo raft (1h40 drift). Book the earliest slot you can for mist photography.
- Afternoon: Da Hong Pao Scenic Area — the Six Mother Trees on the cliff wall.
- Evening: gaiwan tasting at a teahouse on Qilin Road.
Day 3 — Tea estate day or Xiamei
- Option A: full day at a working rock-tea estate (see Wuyi Tea Estate Day).
- Option B: half day in Xiamei Village (Wanli Tea Road start, 70+ Ming/Qing buildings) + half day tea shopping.
- HSR out in the evening.
