The 2026 Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships (APTRC, 2026 亚太越野跑锦标赛) come to Wuyishan, Fujian in mid-to-late November 2026, co-hosted by the Fujian Provincial Sports Bureau, the People's Government of Nanping, and the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), with Wuyishan City handling operations.

The championship field is invitational and elite: each participating country or territory is represented by its highest-ranked athletes, selected via the ITRA Performance Index. Running alongside the championship is the public Grand Wuyi Trail Race, whose associated series has historically offered 10K / 20K / 35K / 60K / 100K distances across the Wuyi Mountains.

Course geography carries the tourism story. Mount Wuyi is a dual UNESCO World Heritage site (cultural + natural, 1999) — Danxia sandstone peaks, the Jiuqu (Nine-Bend) Stream, and China's black-tea heartland around Tongmu. Race weekend aligns neatly with the autumn tea-season wind-down, making Wuyishan a double draw: endurance sport in the morning, rock oolong in the afternoon.
