Operating since 2005, the Minjiang Night Cruise is the single most popular evening experience in Fuzhou — and the easiest way to understand the city's geography.
Classic route (1.5 h, ~120 CNY): departs Xindou Wharf, sails past Jiangbin Park, the Minjiang Bridge and the illuminated Luoxing Pagoda, with tea served throughout. Clear views of the Cangshan skyline and the new south-bank developments.
Cultural upgrade (2 h, ~180 CNY): adds an AR water-screen show projected on the river and a short live Fuzhou Opera performance on board — worth it if you haven't seen Min opera elsewhere.
Practical: nightly year-round, extra departures around Lantern Festival (3 March 2026), Dragon Boat (19 June 2026) and Mid-Autumn (25 September 2026). Book 1 day ahead in peak season; bring a light jacket — it gets breezy even in summer. Metro Line 2 to Zihu, then a 5-minute taxi.
